Mary Bennett, while most recently a stay-at-home Mom, brings with her significant experience in the corporate world. She worked for Donnelley for eight years as a data control analyst. Her responsibilities included debugging and repairing computer programs used to maintain the companies inventory. She then moved to Southwire where she served as a materials manager for seven years. She was responsible for maintaining warehouse inventory in several states and was the highest-ranking female employed by Southwire at the time. When she left Southwire, she opened her own daycare, Carousel Academy in Cartersville Georgia. She grew this business for six years before selling it. Carousel Academy was the first daycare that was accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and was the first privately owned daycare to receive funding from the Georgia lottery. Not long after selling Carousel, her and her family moved to Amelia Island. Mary’s children where still young and in school and she gave up the corporate life to take care of her children. The most time consuming part of this was the 4 hours a day she spent on the road driving them to and from private school. Now both of her children can drive and she has the time to, once again, become active in business. She manages the rental side of Island Realty Amelia and her experience and drive have proven invaluable to the continued growth of Island Realty Amelia.
